Is Scan & Go available on the Hy-Vee app?
No. At this time, Scan & Go is only available on the free Hy-Vee Scan & Go app. Visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to download.
Does it cost anything to use Hy-Vee Scan & Go?
No. Hy-Vee Scan & Go is free for everyone and there is no minimum purchase requirement to use the app.
What payments are accepted through Hy-Vee Scan & Go?
At this time, only credit and debit cards are accepted through the app. SNAP/EBT payment methods are not supported at this time.
Why is the app requesting access to my location and my camera?
The barcode scanning functionality will only turn on when you are at a Hy-Vee location that offers Scan & Go capabilities. Your phone camera is needed in order to scan the barcodes of items.
Can I earn Fuel Saver + Perks rewards and/or redeem or earn Hy-Vee Plus rewards with Hy-Vee Scan & Go?
Yes. To earn or redeem, you will need to enter the phone number tied to your Hy-Vee Fuel Saver + Perks and/or Hy-Vee Plus membership.
When I enter my phone number, it says there is not an account tied to it. What does this mean?
This means that the phone number entered is not tied to an existing Hy-Vee Fuel Saver + Perks account. To add or change your Fuel Saver phone number, visit hy-vee.com and log into your Hy-Vee account.
Will I need to enter my name, email, phone number and credit card information each time I shop with the app?
No. That information only needs to be entered when creating your account. The information will be stored on the app for future shopping visits.
Can I use print coupons with Hy-Vee Scan & Go?
No. At this time, only digital coupons tied to your Fuel Saver + Perks account can be used.
Do I have to bring my own bags?
No, you are welcome to use our complimentary bagging station near the mobile checkout kiosk. However, for best experience, we recommend bringing reusable bags to bag items as you shop.
Do I get a reusable bag credit for bringing my own bag(s)?
At this time we do not have a way to apply this credit. We hope to add this feature in a future update.
Can I purchase produce items through the Hy-Vee Scan & Go app?
Yes. You will need to place the produce item on the scale, which is located within the produce department. You will then scan the label that prints out or you can scan the barcode directly from the scale.
Can I purchase alcohol or tobacco items through the Hy-Vee Scan & Go app?
Yes, however, alcohol and tobacco items will be flagged in the app and will require an employee to review and check for a valid ID.
How can I purchase an item through the app if it doesn’t have a barcode?
Some items may have a 4-digit code that you can enter into the Hy-Vee Scan & Go app. For items that do not have a 4-digit code or a barcode, please set aside and have a Hy-Vee employee help you add those to your order at the end of your shopping trip at the mobile checkout kiosk.
Why is my order being flagged in the app?
Orders containing certain items like alcohol and tobacco are flagged and require an employee to review and check for a valid ID at the mobile checkout kiosk. Also, a percentage of orders are randomly flagged for review.
Do participating stores have free Wi-Fi?
Yes, most stores have free Wi-Fi that can help speed up your shopping experience through the Hy-Vee Scan & Go app.
I’m not seeing the “Start Shopping” button. Why is this?
You must be at the Hy-Vee location and allow the app to track your location in order to see the “Start Shopping” button. We do not allow customers to access the barcode scanning feature until they are at the designated location.
